L. Ross Buntyn is a native of Mississippi. He received his baccalaureate from Mississippi State University. Upon graduation, he went on to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Loyola University in New Orleans, Louisiana. A Vietnam veteran, Dr. Buntyn served in the United States Navy as a dentist early on in his career. In his current practice, Dr. Buntyn has worked to secure his standing as a highly respected dentist in the Gulfport, Mississippi area by completing continuing education courses in general and aesthetic dentistry, including several at the renowned Las Vegas Institute for Advanced Dental Studies. There, he learned about the latest smile makeover techniques, such as laser teeth whitening. Dr. Buntyn has also attended courses taught by ABC’s Extreme Makeover dentist, Bill Dorfman, DDS.

Dr. Buntyn’s other accomplishments include having served as president of Mississippi Academy of General Dentistry, induction into the American College of Dentists, and membership in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Buntyn is currently in the process of fulfilling AACD’s requirements for accreditation. When not at his office, Dr. Buntyn enjoys golfing, hiking, photography, and riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Emily, his lovely wife, has worked closely by his side as office manager of The Smile Design Center for more than 30 years.
